Cute Halloween Cards and Postcards

Welcome. You have found a cute collection of Halloween cards and postcards, that you can also customize.

You don't have to wait or search, just jump right in on the link below; it will take you to my CherylsArt store on Zazzle:

If you'd like to read more, continue on here.

Halloween is my daughter's favorite holiday. She is in her 30's now, and Halloween is still her favorite holiday. She likes the cooler weather, and all of the costume options and Halloween decorations. She's been adding decorative ghost pillows to spruce up her decor.

When she was young, Halloween lasted much longer than one day; for whatever costume she wore, got much extended use both before and after the holiday. Playing dress up was a big theme for her. I could wake up and see a mermaid laying across the floor, every day for months after.

She and her friend would dress up in feathers and shawls and fancy dresses. They had such fun. Halloween helped to make that possible.

Speaking of Halloween joy, I will need to pick out a card just for her, because she loves Halloween so much. Here's the text link for the Halloween cards and postcards. Halloween Cards and Postcards

Have a fun day and a Happy Halloween.

Kids Can Create a Halloween Story

Kids love to create, whether it is art, a story, something to build, etc.

Here you will find a Halloween book made just for helping children create Halloween stories.

Halloween book for kids

Each page begins with either a picture prompt, a written prompt, or both.

sample page from Halloween book

There is a box at the top of each page; most have a picture already in the box that can be added to. Or the box is blank so the child can draw their own image suggested by the written prompt.

There is a line at the top of each page, above the picture, where the child can write the title for their story.

There are solid and dashed lines below the picture box for the children to write their story, based on the picture in the box.

There are approximately 1.25 pages allotted for each story, and enough pages for 31 stories in all. That's a lot of creative writing for the kids!

You can check the book out on Amazon. It is called 31 Days of Creating Halloween Stories: Halloween Story Writing and Drawing Journal for Kids.

I hope that you and your child/children enjoy this fun and creative writing activity.

Halloween Bags Personalized by Kids

Here you will find a selection of Halloween tote bags that the kids can color and or paint in. There are various outline drawings that feature a Halloween design. They can be used as they are or they can be personalized by kids.

The outline drawings are already printed on the bags which the kids can personalize with coloring, painting, and or adding their own artwork. A simple way to color, paint them in is with fabric paint markers, or paint them in using brushes and fabric paint.

The kids can also glue on ribbons, beads, googly eyes, etc., whatever would make it more fun and personal for your child.

This first one is one of my favorites; it's a cute little kitten that had gotten into a pumpkin and is now peeping out of the pumpkin top. You can see its tail when you look at the pumpkin's nose. You can see the kitten's back feet if you look at the pumpkin's eyes.

Here's another one for cat lovers. This Halloween pumpkin sports a cute and happy cat face. Pumpkin vine leaves surround the face.

This pumpkin needs a face. Kids can add their own flare by creating their own unique face design on this Halloween pumpkin. What kind of face do you think that they'll create?

By doing fun and creative activities with your kids, you'll be creating fun and special memories. Plus, the kids will have a sturdy bag to collect their Halloween treats. Happy Halloween!

With this wizard hat design, you can add a photo under the hat for some creative Halloween fun. All you need to do is replace my head image with a photo of your own. If it doesn't line up with your first try, just click on customize; then you can move the photo around and also adjust its size.

Here is the greeting card, which can also be purchased and downloaded or sent to you.

You can also choose from Trick or Treat bags made of canvas. This is a fun idea for personalized trick or treat bags for the kids; and they're also sturdy.

These fun stickers can be added to gifts, cards, etc. Unused stickers can also be included in a card next to the signature!

Extra enjoyment can be had working this fun puzzle with a family member's and or friend's photo.

Pumpkin yard stake made of wood

I was looking for a wooden pumpkin yard stake so that I could add my own painterly touches to it. I found one with a pumpkin shape that I could update with my own design. The original had a covering of burlap on it and a straw bow, which I didn't need. I removed the burlap and straw, which left a furry texture remaining under the burlap.

Goo Gone (The link takes you to Amazon.)came in handy to remove the "fur." I sanded the fur off as best I could and painted the surface black to cover up the inconsistencies. The black didn't really matter, I could have used a different color. After I sanded it again, I painted it with two coats of my base color.

If you are purchasing a surface that is already pretty smooth, you may want to sand it first anyway; it will help the acrylic paint to adhere to the surface better. The rougher texture will give the acrylic something to cling to.

After the paint dried, I drew the face in using watercolor pencils and then used acrylic paint for painting the features and shading. Watercolor pencils work great; they easily blend in with the paint.

These are the colors that I used.
Pumpkin - Georgia Clay - kind of a burnt orange
Leaf - Avocado Dip
Stem - Fawn
I painted the eyes after the body of the pumpkin was completely painted.
Eyes, Nose, Mouth - Marigold - I chose a yellowish color to help it look like it was lit up on the inside. If you choose black for these features, you can add some gray highlights around the edges to add dimension.

I like using the Americana acrylic paint. It comes in convenient little bottles and has a pretty good consistency. Coverage is good with most colors. Reds can be more transparent than other colors. Covering with two layers will give the colors a more solid look.

When I did the highlights for the body, I mixed Georgia Clay paint with some of the Marigold. Then I dipped one corner of a flat brush in the Georgia Clay paint and the other corner of the brush in the mixture. Starting from the center, I painted vertical, curved stripes of the highlights, out toward the edges.

I also turned my brush around and painted the other side of the highlight using the same technique, painting the stripe towards the center of the pumpkin. This gave a more blended look on each side of the highlight.

I repeated this step for each curved section of the pumpkin that I wanted highlighted.

I did lighter highlights at the top of the pumpkin, slightly darker ones towards the middle, with no highlighting at the bottom.

How you decide to do this is up to you. Think about your pumpkins' face, where you want the light to look like it is shining on the pumpkin, and shade and highlight accordingly.

I added non-blended highlights around the bottom and sides of the mouth and eyes to give them more dimension. You can do this with a mix of Marigold with a tiny bit of Georgia Clay.

At the end, I added some fall accents to the leaves. You can dab on different colors with a paint brush or use a sea sponge. It helps to wet the sponge first, and then squeeze out the excess water before dipping it in the paint. You sponge will be more flexible then, and will also be easier to rinse out afterwards.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and have fun painting your own pumpkin face. It's so neat to get creative with pumpkin designs.

Custom Autumn Halloween Thanksgiving Paper Napkins

Here you will find autumn themed paper napkins that you can use for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.

It's a fun time of the year to add some earthy autumn colors.

If you are planning a Halloween party, these happy pumpkins will be glad to greet your guests. I enjoyed creating these pumpkin faces; they will look so cute for your Halloween spread.

If you like the look of floral, these pretty sunflowers in a pumpkin will do the trick. I created this pastel design using watercolors. The pumpkin serves as a vase. The subtle pastel blends are a great choice for a touch of elegance.

These cornstalk and pumpkins harvest napkins will be there to protect your guests' laps for any of your fall events. I created this picture by making a simple drawing and added the words, Happy Harvest. These napkins can also be easily customized with your own words. The burnt orange outlines are great for any fall event.

It was freeing and fun for me to paint these autumn leaves. These birch tree leaves work well for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and any other fall occasion. The yellow, green, and brown shades reflect some of the colors of the autumn landscape.

May you enjoy your autumn get-togethers. Be safe and well.

Art on Products - Halloween Canvas Bags

Are you ready for a sturdy bag that will hold your child's treats, and not have to worry about the bottom falling out? Canvas treat bags are the perfect choice. They come in a choice of sizes, and come already decorated.

If your child likes to color, you can order a design that they can color in with fabric markers. How fun is that! This fun design features my drawing of a cat face pumpkin.

This design is decorated with the words, Trick or Treat in big orange letters; with various goodies and creatures painted on the letters:

This next design is purr-fect for cat lovers; it has a cute cat wearing a wizard hat, a pumpkin who has the shape of a ghost, and a dark house with yellow lights.

Do you like to encourage smiling? Check out these three happy pumpkins; each one has a different happy expression on their face.

You can order any of the designs on the bag style of your choice. Some also have the option of colored handles.

Hope you like the fun choices. You can browse more canvas Halloween bags by CherylsArt at Zazzle.com.

Halloween Wizard Cat and Pumpkin Ghost Stickers, Aprons, and Bags

I love Halloween. It's a colorful time of the year and a fun time to let your imagination soar. There are golds and reds in the trees, and kids are dreaming of what they want to be; like the cat wanting to be a wizard and the pumpkin wanting to act like a ghost, on these fun stickers.

Everyone can join in on the fun with matching aprons. The aprons come in two styles for adults, and a kids style. There are three colors to choose from.

Kids can use these canvas tote bags for a sturdier choice for Trick or Treating. As of this printing, there are five different bag styles to choose from.

Whatever you're doing for Halloween, or any time in between, may you have a wonderful time, and continue being what you want to be.

Love and blessings.
